This feature is available to gyms on the Club Tier and above.
Follow these step-by-step instructions for app pinning to enhance security and user experience.
Kiosk Mode locks your sign-in tablet on one screen, e.g., your participant form Widget.
Select: Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access > On
Set a passcode (tip: avoid choosing a combination like 1-2-3-4-5-6).
A six-digit code that will be memorable, but not easily guessed works best.
Next, press the home button to return to the home screen. Open up your chosen app (Your browser with the link open) and once loaded, triple click the home button so that the Guided Access screen appears. Press Start.
Guided Access mode will begin, and your device will be locked down into one app.
If you need to disable touch on certain areas of the screen (e.g. on a webpage to prevent users from typing a new URL into the address bar), access your Guided Access screen again by triple clicking the home button and entering your passcode.
Ensure that: Touch Option > On. You will now be able to draw a shape around any part of the screen and adjust the position and size by pulling the corner circles. Press Resume (top right corner). This part of the screen will no longer react to touch.
Triple-click the home button again
Enter your chosen passcode
Select End (top left corner)
Locate the "Settings" app and open it. This may be in your app drawer (list).
Use the search bar in your Settings app to find “pinning” and navigate to the feature directly
OR, locate the “Security” submenu in Settings (or similar, like Biometrics and security)
Find “Advanced” or “Other security settings” or a similar submenu in the Security menu
“App pinning” or “Pin windows” will appear in this list. You must turn on the feature to start screen pinning. Regardless of name, the feature will function identically on most Android devices.
“Ask for PIN” allows you to optionally use your device's screen lock (which could be your fingerprint) before the pinned app is removed from the device.
Open the app you want to pin.
Open the “recent apps” view on your Android device.
On devices Android 9 and later: Swipe from the bottom of the screen and hold, as though you were going to use the “home” gesture, but forgot to let go of the screen.
On devices Android 8 and older or with 3-button navigation: Tap the square button in the navigation bar.
Locate the app icon of the app you want to pin in the recent apps view — it will be near the top of the device’s screen. Tap the icon.
Several options will appear in a drop-down menu, including “Pin this app,” which you can tap to immediately pin the app you’ve selected.
There are two pictures that can appear in a visitor’s profile;
Visitor-uploaded photo – added by the visitor through the app. This photo is visible on the dashboard unless it is replaced by a photo taken at the gym.
Gym-taken photo – captured on-site. If taken, this photo overrides the visitor-uploaded photo on the dashboard only i.e., visitors will continue to see the photo they uploaded within the app.
In Kiosk mode during check-in, the photo displayed is always the visitor-uploaded profile picture from the app. Visitors can choose not to upload a photo or can change it at any time.
Please note that this Error is due to how Safari stores profile credentials. This is error is limited to iPads on Safari, kindly install Google Chrome to solve.
You can find the app pinning options in Settings > Security > Advanced (or Other Security Settings) > App pinning. Alternatively, you can simply search the Settings menu for “pinning.”
App pinning prevents users of the phone or tablet from leaving the foreground app, so they can’t open other apps (like the camera or browser).
To exit the pinned app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold, as though you are attempting to initiate the recent apps view. Your device will then ask you for your PIN or other unlock method (like fingerprint) to exit the pinned app. The feature can be disabled in the Security menu.
To unpin an app on Android 9 and later, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold, as though you are attempting to initiate the recent apps view. Your device will then ask you for your PIN or other unlock method (like fingerprint) to exit the pinned app.On Android 8 and earlier (and Android 9+ devices with 3-button navigation), hold the "back" and “recent apps" navigation buttons down. Your device will then ask you for your unlock code if you've enabled this feature and exit the pinned app.
