Upgrade a Subscription to change the price associated with the Price Pass you set.
Once a change is set, the subscription will display as:
Pending Changes: A pending change is any scheduled update that will take effect on the next billing date. Staff should check the upcoming invoice to confirm the details of the pending change.
Available to Business & Above.
When you schedule a subscription price upgrade to take effect on the next billing date, the following happens:
The subscription will start issuing the Entry Type(s) associated with the new pass price from the next billing period.
Any entries tied to the pending change will also be issued on the next billing date by default.
The dropdown will display recurring prices related to the current pass price (e.g., if the subscription is monthly, it will only show other monthly Recurring Pass Prices).
You can choose to adjust the billing cycle if needed
Available to gyms on the Business tier & above.
When you choose to bill immediately during a subscription upgrade:
BETA will generate a transaction, and charge the profile the amount shown in the popup summary (If manual collection, a Due transaction will be created).
The entries associated with the new pass price will be issued immediately.
BETA calculates a prorated rate for the immediate charge.
This charge may appear as a credit or debit to the profile’ account.
If you do not want to bill immediately, you can skip the charge; the new entries will still be issued, and the pending change will be billed on the next billing date.
Available to gyms on the Enterprise tier & above.
This option lets you choose between all recurring pass prices, allowing you to change the billing period of a subscription.
You can choose if you wish to bill the subscription immediately, or on the Next Billing Date.
Example, Update a subscription from a 1-month cycle to a 3-month cycle.
You can select any pre-existing pass prices that match your desired billing period.
Pass prices cannot be directly changed in BETA since they affect all previous transactions. If you would like to apply a price increase, please follow the instructions below: Please note, there is also a BULK UGRADE OPTION available in Experiments › Option 1: Bulk update Recurring/Subscription Prices Create a new monthly recurring pass price with the price increase. There might be a couple of reasons why you cannot update the price on a GoCardless subscription. One is that the subscription was set up manually in GoCardless, or was setup prior to your switch to BETA. Another reason is that GoCardless limits a subscription price to be updated six times. If the later is the case, the climber will need to set up another recurring payment through the widget.
Changing the billing period can affect your original recurring billing agreement, including payment and access terms.
Such changes must follow legal and payment rules, and the gym is responsible for handling them. BETA is not liable.
This is to maintain consistency across members, BETA only allows selection from existing recurring pass prices. If you need a new billing cycle, you can create a new Entry Type and an associated recurring pass price.
When you update a subscription’s billing cycle, any recurring extras will inherit the billing cycle of the new associated pass price. This ensures that all charges stay aligned with the subscription’s updated schedule.
