Cancelling a recurring subscription will stop future payments. To cancel a subscription, make sure the action is done within BETA — NOT through your payment provider.
The passes on that subscription will remain on the account which will expire at the end of the current billing cycle.
To expire a pass on the current billing cycle, please follow below
Manage Profile's Passes
This help article covers the management of passes on a visitor’s profile. Including transferring/gifting passes, changing their expiry date/start date, undoing a visit from a pass and more.
If you do not wish to collect payment for an processing/overdue subscription:
Cancel the payment
Cancel the overdue transaction separately
This two-step process ensures you do not accidentally cancel a missed payment that should still be collected. Once both are cancelled, you can then cancel the subscription itself.
Alternatively, you may choose to collect a manual payment on the due transaction; for example, if the customer is at the desk wishing to settle this last payment before cancelling the subscription itself.
If you try to cancel a subscription with a due transaction still linked, you'll receive an error message:
"State of transaction is invalid for that operation - can't edit a subscription with a pending transaction."
Cancelation of GoCardless Due Transactions must be done through GoCardless.
Follow their documentation here.
